I asked my sister to do a guest post a while back and she still hasn’t gotten around to it. I’m braiding her hair now…almost done. So I figured I’d put of pics of her previous set of mini braids as a preview to her article. I’ll include pics of her current set when she actually does the write up.

Her hair is a lot coarser than mine, meaning the strands themselves are thick. Her hair is thick as well. She’s type 4 but she does have some heat damage so she doesn’t wear her hair non-stretched. We went natural at the same time but she BC’d, while I transitioned. March 2012 marked her 3rd year since the BC.

She recently started wearing mini braids. She’s on her 3rd or 4th set now and she loves the way her hair feels when she takes them out. She’s said “this is the softest my hair has ever been.”

(I’m having issues with my photo editor but here’s one pic of her braids from mid June. She did them herself, parted using her fingers, and kept them in for maybe 3 weeks.)

She had her hair in 2 french braids for work and took them out when she got home. I think she undid her mini braids a couple days after this pic was taken.
