I totally forgot to do this. The last week flew by, probably since I posted the previous update 3 days late. :/ This update should be from 7/12, but I took these pictures yesterday, 7/14. The next update will be at the scheduled time on 7/19.

Lately I’ve been using a lot of protein. I used Aphogee 2 min several times since my trim. I posted about the summer solstice trim and seeing a lot of splits afterward. The splits have slowed down. I see one or two but I haven’t felt the need to jump up and trim them. The protein increase has made a huge difference on to my ends.

I’ve also been baggying overnight with a little oil. Baggying, for those who don’t know, is when you cover your head with a plastic cap to create a moist environment for the hair. Some people wet their hair and use conditioners and oils, but I just use a little oil because my hair tends to be over-moisturized. I’m doing this to see if it makes any difference in my growth. I’ll compare this month’s growth to last month.

I picked up a jar of LeKair Cholesterol even though I said I would replace it with Giovanni Nutrafix. The hold it has on me is strong. I was in Walmart and I was looking at it, it was looking at me, the price was only $1.93 and that 7 cents under the dollar really got to me. I will say I’m making progress because I only picked up one, as opposed to the 2-3 that I usually buy each time I pass that aisle. My past routine was to steam with it every Saturday. This week I did an overnight DC with it and used a little as a leave in because I miss it so. I’ll return to using it as weekly DC from now on.

Sorry, this update is sooooo long… Lastly, I’ve cowashed more often, about every other day. I used my Burt’s Bee’s conditioner because I want to use it up. It doesn’t have the greatest shelf life and it also is just not great overall. I need to do a review on it soon.

I think that’s about it. I’m getting kinda bored with my hair. I went out on Friday and restyled my hair 3 times and wasn’t happy with it at all. It just seems sort of flat. I’ll start doing my rolled and braid/twist out styles to get a different look. I’m also working on some turban looks with my mini braids.

And FINALLY, le pictures… (there’s conditioner in my hair because I was getting ready to DC over night, excuse the white stuff)
