Sometimes I shocked by how quickly I tire of styling my hair…especially since I don’t do much to it. I decided to hide my hair until New Years Eve. Normally, I would put in mini braids, but I just don’t feel like dealing with taking them out and I just recently got my curl pattern back. You can read my post about my curl pattern change here. This is my hair now, after it was air-dried in 6 twists. As you can see, the curls are clumped better than in the previous post and this is dried/stretched hair.

I started putting in yarn twists, but I didn’t like the amount of tension it was putting on my roots. I ended up taking them out and opting for a wig instead. Right now the plan in to wear my Outre Tammy half wig through December. [EDIT- the article hadn’t posted and I’d already changed my mind after 1 week.] The front of my hair is left out. About 1/2 an inch around the entire perimeter (minus the front that will be seen) is flat twisted- just in case I want to have leave-out for a ponytail or bun. The rest of my hair is in medium sized braids. I used a lot of rinse out conditioner when I braided, so I won’t need to moisturize and seal. I am wearing a thin plastic baggie (the type you put veggies in at the grocery store) to cover my hair, then putting my wig cap over that. The plastic baggie prevents damage from the wig cap and keeps my hair moisturized.

My wig has the comb in the top. I place bobby pins around the rest of the perimeter to keep it down. My leave out was air-dried then on a low temp (around setting 10 on BaByliss that goes up to 25). I then braided it to give it a similar texture to the wig. My edges reverted a little but I did use any additional heat. I’ve only worn the wig when I leave the house. Otherwise, all my braids are in a bun.

(Sidenote- my skin is hypersensitive and usually red but my webcam really picks that up and it’s so annoying! I look pink, lol)

But as mentioned in the edit above, it has been a week in the wig and I am over it. I’m starting a fitness bootcamp and I’d rather have a different style. I am resisting the urge to wear mini braids because I wear my hair out on New Year’s Eve and mini braids make that complicated because every year I wait to literally the very last minute to take them out. I think I might put in some loose strand twists but I can’t really wash them and my ends hate twists…I don’t know. What I do know is I am too fickle…
