I don’t do twist outs often because they never look right on my hair. I’ve flat twisted just a few times and I do like the results.

This style was done on damp hair. I used the Miss Good Hair pineapple leave in, the curl cream, and some Eco styler gel. I did add a bit of shea butter on the ends that needed it. I left the flat twists in for a few days and wrapped them around my head each night for some stretching.

The first pic shows the flat twists, next pic is day 1- no separating. Last pics are day 2 hair after separating the curls and fluffing a bit.

An Afro-American girl with afro textured hair. I found a method of maintaining my hair in braids that I'd like to share! :)

  1. I prefer flat twists as well. I learned from Naptural85 and the method makes sense to me. Maybe when my hair gets longer but I doubt it. Flat twist, although time intensive to put in, give great definition without having to separate further. Thanks for sharing!
