I’ve been slacking…I should have posted this ages ago. I actually took out my twists after 2 weeks because I had somewhere to go and I wanted my hair out and full (it’s become a security blanket of sorts). But when my hair is out I just don’t know what to do with it…I’ve gone from wash and go…to braid out… and now it’s flat ironed. :O I actually want to wash it and it’s only been a few days. :/

But now onto the update. These pics are from May 9th-10th. I took the twists out over a couple days but I did not keep track of the time. The most tedious part of the process was detangling. I ran my fingers through each twist to make sure it was fully detangled before moving on the next one. I took this pic to demonstrate how much I truly hate twists in my hair…KNOTS galore. I never have issues like this with my mini braids. When I wear twists, shed hair wraps completely around the twist and makes it nearly impossible to undo.

Here’s the top of my hair. The root grew a good amount in 2 weeks. I used Black Jamaican Castor Oil and I got about 1/2″ of growth in that time. The smell was a bit much to deal with.

Here’s the shot of the back. I’ve already taken out a lot of the back portion in this pic.

And the aftermath.IMG_8118

I shampooed with sulfate-free shampoo, DC’d with LeKair and detangled with Tresemme Naturals. I wore a wash and go for a few days. Unlike when I wear mini braids, after my mini twists, my curl pattern came back right away.
