I’m caring for my mini twists differently that how I would care for mini braids. These twists can’t take a lot of manipulation or frequent cowashing. I’ve been working out outside lately and the whether is nice so I’m not worried about having to wash my hair a lot. I’m skipping my weekly deep conditioning and will only shampoo and DC when I need to.
It’s important for me to keep my hair moisturized because my ends tend to dry out and get tangled in twists. I’m spritzing my hair with water nightly then sealing it with a mix of shea butter and aloe vera juice. To keep my hair stretched, I’m putting it in one big braid and tucking in the end. I sleep with a plastic bag covering my braid as well. I’m worried about my hair not drying so I take the braid down in the morning, allow it to dry, then putting my stretched twists up in a bun for the day.
Products used- water, shea butter, aloe vera juice, grape seed oil, Jamaican black castor oil.
