Try out this shortcut if you’re not sure you have the patience and the wherewithal to braid your entire head. If you can cornrow, add a cornrowed design to the front of your crown. Cornrows are a great way to spice up any look. Occasionally, I cornrow from ear to ear. These types of braids do not last as long and individual mini braids, but it’s much easier to redo them. Changing the parting can really change the look. I’m not great at it but practice makes perfect, right? 🙂  Here are two styles I’ve done… I’m working from my netbook so I don’t have access to a lot of my pictures and I haven’t done cornrows lately because I love the versatility of a whole head of mini braids. For full details on how to put in mini braids, start to finish, get a copy of The Mini Braid Method ebook.

These pics are from late 2009. I didn’t walk around looking like Edward Scissors Hands. I pinned up the braids or wore a headband after I cowashed to make my braids lie flat.

This style was from 2010. It’s meant to mimic the undercut hairstyle that was popular at the time.
