I finally got a length check shirt. I figured it’s a good way to track my Hairfinity results. I’m still in mini twists but I took one out to take this pic. As of December 2, 2013, I’m a little past line 6 on my shirt.

I’ll post an update about my growth in twists in 2 weeks. I’ll do monthly length checks in this shirt at the start of each month.

An Afro-American girl with afro textured hair. I found a method of maintaining my hair in braids that I'd like to share! :)

    1. No, the lines start quite far down and are about 1.2 inches apart. My hair is around 15-17 inches and reaches past the 6 marker on the shirt.

  1. I have a very long way to go to get your length! I asked around to see how much it would cost for me to do my hair like this and $175 is a lot so I decided to braid myself and save my money.

By the way, I braided my hair last night. I didn’t like it at first but when I slept on it and woke up, it turned into it’s own style once I sprayed the ends it with water and a conditioner! It turned into a shoulder length bob with swiped bangs to the side, with curly ends 🙂 I tried to leave 2 cm of my ends loose but my arms were tired and I ended up leaving about 1.5 inches unbraided! It took me about 4 hours to braid my hair.

Thank you for your tips. I learned a lot about my hair within hours 🙂

    1. Wow, that is really expensive! It is time consuming but I really don’t understand the prices for some of these hairstyles. When my hair was shorter, I left a lot of my ends loose too. My bestie was once shocked that my hair was in braids and not just a curly fro, lol. I am glad you like your mini braids and that the blog has been helpful to you.

Thanks so much for stopping but and for your lovely comment. It really means a lot!! ^.^
