Here’s the week 2 update. They are holding up well. The front of my hair is a little fuzzy but I easily fix that with a silk scarf.
Here’s the week 1 update if you missed it.

An Afro-American girl with afro textured hair. I found a method of maintaining my hair in braids that I'd like to share! :)

I really like this method. It suits me and my lifestyle down to a tee.Its so Practical, i can do different styles without manipulating my hair too much, and be able to wash my hair as much as I want. I was doing twists before but washing often led to tangling and breakage.
Thanks for you comment Laila! I feel exactly the same way. 🙂 I love how easy it is to just get up and go, no need to fuss with my hair. During the month I was out of braids, I put 3-4 mini twists in and they tangled so badly, I had to cut of the ends to get them out. Twists just don’t agree with my fine hair, smh.
saaaame. they tangle at the root too. What I don’t understand is why i stuck with them for so long. When i do minibraids I get an undergrowth of short broken hairs from all the tangles and breakage past. 🙁
I’m trying to look on the bright side though, as my hair is quite thick already and once the breakage is rectified it can only get thicker 🙂
