  2. I posted somewhere on here saying I’d just cut off my locs for the second time. The first time, I had waist length locs, this time they had just begun to reach my shoulders. “Natural” ain’t for me…meaning, my hair is super fine, very porous and I got types 1-4 on my head (that’s all that “race-mixing” that’s coming to light). It took two years for my second set of locs to start growing because I was on medication that totally killed my hair. So, when I cut off the new locs last week, my friends couldn’t believe it. “It’s only hair and it will grow back” is a very true statement. However, after reading all the articles, blogs and looking at Youtube vids, I already know, that doing most of that stuff isn’t going to help me retain any length because my hair is FRAGILE. It breaks if the wind blows too hard. So, I’m figuring, if I gotta do “protective twists and styles” all the time, why not just do something that will incorporate both. I like the fact that I don’t have to do much to my hair in locs..just keep it moisturized, but I didn’t know how much I missed feeling a good wash on my hair and scalp. I didn’t have a lot of buildup in my locs because the time I installed them, I did is using the “Bradeloc/Nappyloc” method. But what I’m finding out now that I’ve chopped my hair down to less than an inch, is that I never really prepared my hair for locs. My edges are thin and in some places, I don’t have any hair at all. I drink loads of water, eat right, exercise, get enough sleep, but still the natural state of my hair is not what I want it to be. My friend just talked me into some Hairfinity vitamins (I’m on Day 2), and if this stuff does what it says it does, then I plan on getting a bit more length and letting my edges and stuff fill in. I was just sitting here lamenting that I cut off my locs and after going to the mirror and looking at what my hair looks like AFTER LOCS, I’ve decided that cutting it all off was giving me the opportunity to “get to know my hair” and treat it better. In my rush to regain length, I skipped over and was skipping the steps I needed to have strong hair. What I don’t want to do again, is to loc the hair up so that it becomes impossible for moisture/protein to get down into the hair shaft. Loc’ing makes this impossible, so although I had length, my hair still wasn’t strong like it needed to be. So, I’ll spring for your book. It will give me the “feel” of locs, but allow me to take my hair down, get in there and give it all the good stuff it needs. Length don’t mean nothing if the hair is still fragile.

    1. Your hair sounds very similar to my own- fragile, porous, easy to break. For a long time I thought the only way I’d have long hair is to loc it. My cousin is Rastafari and she has the most incredible ankle length locs that I’ve always admired. With lots of protein and mini braids, I’ve been able to retain my hair length without too much effort. Good luck on your hair journey and thanks for sharing your story!!

  3. I’m on my natural hair journey for a year and four months, I’ve been trying so hard to get to BSL, I swear if I got there I’d die from dehydration due to tears of joy. I’d love to finally have long hair like my sister, and I think I’d be so much happier with it, this giveaway will make me so eternally grateful to you, I’m just above APL now and I’ve been consistent on my hair regimen, but I feel like this will push me over the hill of faster hair growth.
With bunning I feel like this has helped me achieve the most growth, this is my favorite protective style

  4. My hair needs a little help getting past its current length. Healthy hair is the goal, but a little length ain’t never hurt nobody! Long hair, DO care (just a lil bit) 🙂

  5. I have been natural for a little bit over 3 years now and I have been searching for this long healthy hair for over a while now and I have tried, bought and done everything one would think of in order to get that long beautiful healthy looking hair and am still not there yet. I have reach a point where my growth is stuck at the current length (barely passes my earlobe) and won’t grow. I think these could possibly help me tremendously and would like the opportunity to try them before I buy them.

  6. After having an encounter with a scissor happy stylist who was supposed to just trim I’d love to try this vitamin to grow my hair back out.

  7. I would like to win because after I had my son my hair drastically changed, I cut it and can’t seem to regain any length now! crossing my fingers!

  8. I would like to win them to help get my hair back healthy. I tried tansitioning to natural & damaged my hair a lot.

  9. I d like to win because i have thickness but not length. My hair did make it to the bottom of my ears, but then it broke off in the middle. Looking for something to help with the length! The only harsh thing i do to my hair is dye it and i do not do it often… Wondering if anyone had any tips on how to stop the breakage?
    Thanks!
