I have not been, nor will I ever be a natural who styles her hair nightly. This is about a week into these twists/twist out (twisted on Tues, took them out on Friday…ponytail on Monday). I’ve been tugging and pulling on my hair so it looks worse that it would otherwise. It’s still pretty moisturized- I sprayed my twists with aloe vera and added more leave in. Towards the end of any ‘out’ style, I wear my hair in a bun or a ponytail. Natural hair only takes as long as you want it to…

Collage ponytail

I should add that while my flat twists were not pretty- the parts were done with my hands, etc…I flat twisted them and pinned them into a protective style for work. I only wore my twist out for the weekend…which is pretty routine for me.

  1. Girl, that ONE sentence caused me to stop reading because I SO FEEL YOU!!! I am so low, low hair maintenance that the only thing I will do to prepare my hair at night is to put my hair in a pineapple if it’s in a wash-n-go. Ain’t nothing wrong with a little ‘bedhead,’ lol!

    I like the pony, too!

    1. Haha, I am lucky if my scarf makes it on my head at night, no way I am restyling. A little frizz doesn’t bother me.

Tell me why I just went to your blog and I saw all those delicious foods when I’m on a diet and hungry! lol. Lemme go read up on your Belize trip.
