This post is a little late. I took my mini braids out September 16, 17, & 18. I wore wash and goes for a week and now I’m back to my signature braid outs. The take down process was pretty simple. My hair was very moisturized and I used some oils a few days prior to taking them down. Read my tips for undoing mini braids here. My roots and grown out quite a bit, but the length of my hair still looked good.

I took down about a handful of mini braids. Then I finger detangled and braided the undone section to keep it out of the way. When I was all done and my hair was completely free of mini braids, I undid the large braids and used bentonite clay and a little neem to deep cleanse. I deep conditioned with LeKair cholesterol.

As always, the ebook has the full rundown of how I do/maintain my mini braids.

Here are pics of my hair during and after the take down.

Here’s my hair after a few days of wearing it out and wearing it in a puff, etc… I used Giovanni Triple Tea Treat as a leave in and added Curls gel over it. I wasn’t a fan of the results.
