I borrowed my sister’s Curlformers and gave them a go. She only has one pack, I think there were 40 in all. I therefore had to stuff a lot of hair into each one. I think this made them a lot harder to use. The smaller the amount of hair in each roller, the easier it is to pull the hair through it. I ran into trouble with a few so that part wasn’t too bad for my first try. I think it took about 2 hours to put in.

All I used on my hair was my shea butter mix. I think overall, that is where I went wrong. My hair looked okay at first. When I separated some of the curls, it was the beginning of the end. I went shopping that day in the Florida heat and humidity. I got quite a few complements from strangers on my hair. By the end of the day, however, my hair was a hot ass mess. It looked terrible. What I was left with was kinky, frizzy lumps of hair. I tried to brush it out and deal with it but my hair was so, so big, I flat ironed it with my maxiglide on a 5 of 10 heat setting with really large pieces of hair (handfuls really). The low heat styling made my hair bearable for the next few days.  I’m kinda disappointed I got less than 24 hours of a decent style from all the work of curlformers. I probably won’t bother with them again. It’s just not my cup of tea. Here are the pics I snapped before it went downhill….

Edit: These were actually the knockoff version from amazon. It was probably the Magic Leverage rollers, but I’m not certain.
