I can’t give  a solid opinion on these products because I’ve only used a teeny tiny sample pack. Miss Good Hair offers free samples (with free shipping) of their products on the website. Although the samples said back-ordered when I ordered, my envelope arrived sooner than expected.

Unfortunately, the ingredients aren’t listed on the sample pack or the website. That makes me really skeptical about a purchasing. There are only 3 products- 2 leave ins and a curl creme. I’ve tried both leave-ins.

Tropical Pineapple Leave-In Conditioner & Detangler

The scent is really light and exactly how you’d expect something called “tropical pineapple” to smell. The consistency and performance is very comparable to Kinky Curly Knot Today- meaning it does a great job of detangling, but it’s not heavy enough as a leave-in for my hair. I think KCKT has a bit more slip so it takes less product to get the job done. An 8 ounce bottle of the Tropical Pineapple costs $8.99, so it’s a bit cheaper than KCKT. With shipping costs to my area, the total was $14.99- which is more than what KCKT goes for at Target.

Ylang Ylang Leave-In Conditioner & Detangling Lotion

I consider this product almost identical to the Tropical Pineapple Leave-In. I don’t know the ingredients, so I can’t say for sure. The scent is very different. I assume it’s what Ylang Ylang typically smells like…I’m not familiar with the herb. I prefer the pineapple scent over this one. The consistency is much like the Tropical Pineapple one- slightly thicker than KCKT. The price is the same- $8.99 for 8 ounces.

Verdict

I just don’t know enough about this company to spend here (I haven’t seen an reviews or an ingredients list). While the products performed well and definitely helped me detangle my hair after a trip to the beach (with a brush…and remember I only use a brush about every 2 months) , I haven’t heard very much about MissGoodHair.com in the natural hair community. Kinky Curly Knot Today is a very similar product. While I consider Kinky Curly products to be very expensive, the Knot Today actually turns out cheaper because I can find it locally.

EDIT JULY 30th, 2013: According to the newsletter, for a limited time only, items in the Miss Good Hair online store are marked 30% off for summer.
