For a lot of us, our hair just cannot growth fast enough. I’ve tried it all when  it comes to growing my hair to long lengths. My regular growth rate is less than the average rate of 1/2 an inch per month. There are quite a few all natural ingredients said to promote hair growth.

I’m trying out a simple oil recipe to stimulate growth. The ratios are as follows:

  • 1 Part Castor oil
  • 1 Part Grape seed oil
  • 10 Drops Peppermint essential oil per 1 ounce of carrier oil

These are the general ratios that you can use for any amount of oil. Say you want to make 2 ounces of growth oil- your specific recipe would be approximately 1 ounce castor oil, 1 ounce grape seed oil and 20 drops of peppermint EO.

Put the oil mixture in a clean, dry applicator or spray bottle. Apply to your scalp and roots and massage your head for about 2 minutes.

I like to use it right after my workout for a tingly clean feeling. I cowash my hair afterward and try not to strip all the oil. The steam from the shower also adds to the tingly feeling. Regular cowashing is recommended to avoid build up from oils but these are all good for the hair and easily absorbed in this ratio.

Here are links for purchasing these ingredients from Amazon.com or iHerb.com. Don’t forget to use the promo code EKI823 for $5 off your first iHerb.com order.
